It gets boring out watching The Farmer all the time. Boring like watching the grass grow in the pasture we stay in. Boring enough that your mind begins to wander. Mine wandered onto a new idea for a short story. Let me give you a synopsis.
It is a post apocalyptic world where teenagers survive on little more than juice and soft drinks. They have become dumb, overweight, and brittle boned. An evil overlord captures some of them and forces them to compete in gladiator like games in an arena. The winner of the games receives different types of dairy foods like yogurt, milk, and ice cream.
Eventually due to the bountiful nutritiousness of the dairy products the teenager heroes slim down, get smarter, and grow stronger. They overthrow their evil, manipulative captors and guarantee a nutritious diet with dairy for all.
I'm shopping the idea around several movie studios. I think this could be huge!

Daring To Be Green On St. Patrick's Day
Well, I may be the only cow celebrating like this, but I do not care and my boss can get over it! St. Patrick's Day is my favorite holiday. Every year I go all out in green! Except for the milk. The milk always stays white, pure, and nutritious.
However, if you would like a tasty, green dairy treat then I would suggest a McDonald's Copycat: Double Thick-Shamrock Shake.

It's green. It's ice cream. You know you'll love it. Especially on St. Patrick's Day. If you're feeling really Irish, you'll color yourself green like me.

Nat'l Ag Day: Something to Moo About!
While I celebrate agriculture everyday, today is National Agriculture Day and I think everyone should be excited. Now some people, imagine that, are thanking farmers left and right for the food, fiber, and products that come from the agriculture industry. But I say, "What about the cows?"
Sure, I'm thankful for the farmers that raise my tasty corn, soybeans, hay, silage, and more that make up my diet. Even The Farmer here that we keep a close eye on does well most of the time. But there's also me!
I'm proud of my ability to transform all those tasty feeds I eat into delicious, nutritious milk. Milk for folks to drink. Milk to make into yogurts. Milk for I-scream-for-ice-cream! For all of the above, from the bottom of my heart, you are welcome.

Spring Break Is A Bummer
Sunglasses and suntan lotion; check. Tickets; check. Thunderstorms and tornadoes; check. Just when we were going to get away for a few days to the beach for some spring break fun, the storms came in. The good news is that there was no damage for The Farmer. Our hearts go out to those who suffered from the extreme weather. But on a more personal level, we are real sad that our flight was cancelled. No beach, no sand, no sun, no fun.
The Farmer's Wife would probably say this is a good time for comfort food and she just might suggest macaroni and cheese. Mac and cheese has come a long way since the little blue box most folks have fond memories of. There are hundreds of ways of fixing it and even fancy sit down restaurants are serving it. The most important thing is that cheese and milk are essential ingredients. I'm proud that my milk is comforting people and satisfying their hunger. Maybe we can pick some up on the way home from the airport. I need some comfort, too.
